Meet our Arabic and Quran teachers.
Chief Executive Officer
Shaykh Mahmoud Al-Assal, an Egyptian graduate of Al-Azhar’s Alexandria Institute of Qirāʾāt, holds numerous Qur’anic Ijāzāt and advanced Tajwīd certifications. With over 13 years of teaching experience, including online instruction for non-Arabic speakers, he is the Director and Co-Founder of Shaykhi Academy, where he teaches Qur’an memorization, Tajwīd, Ijāzah, and Qirāʾāt programs.
Managing Director
Mr. Luqman El-Kasabany is a Qur’an Hafiz, Al-Azhar graduate, and Managing Director of Shaykhi Academy, with extensive experience teaching Qur’an, Tajweed, Arabic, and Islamic sciences online. He is the author of the academy’s curriculum and is actively involved in educational leadership and professional development.
Senior Qur’an Teacher
Mr. Ahmed Ramadan is a distinguished Qur’an teacher and professional translator with a degree in Islamic Studies from Al-Azhar University. With three years of teaching Arabic and Islamic Studies to non-native speakers and three years translating Islamic and legal texts, he combines expertise, precision, and deep knowledge. Memorizing the Qur’an at eleven and holding multiple ijazāt, he also served five years as an imam, enriching his students’ learning experiences.
Egyptian Qur’an teacher
Shaykh Ahmed Hassan Saber is an Egyptian Hafiz and certified Qur’an reciter, trained at Al-Azhar in Arabic, Tajweed, Fiqh, Tafseer, and Seerah, with extensive experience teaching Qur’an recitation and Arabic to non-native speakers.
Al-Azhar–educated Islamic studies teacher
Mr. Mahmoud Elsaid is an Al-Azhar graduate and experienced Islamic studies teacher who specializes in teaching the Qur’an and related sciences to students of all ages using effective and adaptable educational methods.
Al-Azhar–educated Qur’an teacher
Mr. Abdullah Moftah is an Egyptian Qur’an teacher, imam, and preacher with a degree in Islamic Studies in English from Al-Azhar University and a license in ‘Asim Barawiyyah recitation.
Qur’an teacher
Mr. Nour Eddin Mahmoud is an Al-Azhar student and qualified Qur’an teacher with multiple Ijazahs in Qur’an recitation and Islamic texts. He teaches both Arabic and non-Arabic speakers, communicates in Arabic and English, and is skilled at engaging children through clear explanations and educational games.
Egyptian native Arabic speaker teacher
Mr. Saif Al-Metwaly is a medical student who teaches Qur’an, Tajweed, and Islamic studies to non-Arabic speakers and is fluent in Arabic, English, and French.
Mrs. Asmaa Abdul Rahman is an experienced Qur’an and Tajweed teacher with over ten years of expertise, an Al-Azhar University background, and an Ijazah in Hafs ‘an ‘Asim. She teaches children and women, focusing on clear instruction, accurate recitation, and effective memorization.
Ms. Alaa Elbakry is a native Arabic speaker with a degree in Arabic studies, formal Tajweed training, and experience teaching the Qur’an online. She is also active in charity work and is the author of two published books.
Qur’an and Arabic teacher from Egypt
Ms. Kholoud Hamada is an experienced Qur’an and Arabic teacher from Egypt, fluent in Arabic and English, with strong expertise in Tajweed and Qur’anic recitation. She is passionate about teaching learners of all ages and is currently pursuing an Ijazah in ‘Asim, in addition to holding an Ijazah in Tohfa Al-Atfal.

Asmaa Gohar is a certified Arabic and Qur’an tutor from Egypt with over six years of experience, specializing in MSA, Egyptian Arabic, Tajweed, and Islamic studies, using interactive and student-centered teaching methods.
